I put on my Facebook a photo I took on a walkabout of a couple pumpkins on someone’s porch steps with a good layer of snow cover. (It was not an early winter)
Our Village still has the Christmas lights up and on, along Main Street. Good idea actually, ‘cause they don’t plow the road and its easier to see where to drive at night
I remember last March when the lock downs were starting and people were saying to put up lights to make the houses bright and cheery. So no reason to take any lights down until the pandemic is over.
You need to check out Frank the Christmas Gargoyle, he was all decked out for Christmas. He was decked out for football, and now for Mardi Gras. He has also raised over $70,000 for a food bank.
A fair number of people in my neighborhood are leaving up lights (I think most of them took down the particularly Christmas decorations) to hope for the end of the pandemic.

I noticed many houses with wreaths etc on their doors. You got it up in time, how hard is it to take it down?

Luckily I helped my father take down the Christmas lights off his and my stepmother’s house a week or so ago (I was the one on the ladder).

Put heart decorations on the wreath. BAM Happy Valentines Day.
I can’t think of a city that would pay Sunday double time to do this

It’s the brown, dried out pine wreaths I worry about. I keep waiting for them to burst into flames.

Where I am, Valentine’s Day is pretty much the new Christmas, since we get lots of snow in February, and rarely in December!
