Back in 1977, they didn’t have many huge multi-screen theaters. Many were affiliated with movie companies. Star Wars played at a local multi-plex (8 screens- a huge deal at the time!) It also played continuously for over a year! On the one-year anniversary, they took out a full-page newspaper ad! My friends and I saw it dozens of times! Not too long after, a big multi-screen theater opened in a nearby mall. At $4.50 a ticket, we would sometimes go see TWO movies back to back! Now you need a loan to buy two tickets and snacks, and they make you pay extra for 3D glasses, even if you kept your old ones.
I remember standing in line for “A New Hope” when it hit Anchorage. Oldest son was about 2 and a half, youngest was 4 months, and we took them with us – they don’t remember that for some reason…

You know, Peter, with a little effort you could pass as a nerd and blend right in. It’s not like anybody is going mistake you for an athlete.

Shouldn’t Jason have said. “Much fear in you I sense”?

A reason for Peter to be glad that theaters are closed now.
