I think he’d be disappointed at the way so many people, regardless of color, continue to think their skin color is the most important fact about them.

    I’ll allow a one-panel for that…

Fox Settled a Lawsuit Over Its Lies. But It Insisted on One Unusual Condition. — The settlement had to be kept secret for a month — until after the Nov. 3 election. The exhausted plaintiffs agreed. Fox’s decision to settle with the Rich family came just before its marquee hosts, Lou Dobbs and Sean Hannity, were set to be questioned under oath in the case, a potentially embarrassing moment. And Fox paid so much that the network didn’t have to apologize for the May 2017 story on FoxNews.com. The unusual arrangement underscores how deeply entwined Fox has become in the Trump camp’s disinformation efforts and the dangerous paranoia they set off, culminating in the fatal attack on the Capitol 11 days ago. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/17/business/media/fox-news-seth-rich-settlement.html

It’s more than just skin color now. Every sub-group left of center is now going to be part of the future problem for the Dems as they pressure the executive branch and moderates. They are all telling the Biden crowd that you could not have done it without us so where is our payback.

Right of center is now playing the blame game against each other and splintering. Left of center just has to do two things.

    1. Shut up in public and let the GOOP TAKE THEMSELVES OUT in 4-8 years as they turn on each other.

    2. Find common ground and programs (requiring compromise) that will benefit all of them concurrently, and stop trying to get everything wanted in one attempt.

Dr. King said, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by their character.”

Of course, that presupposes a black youth will live long enough for us to know what his character is. MAGA is working to prevent that.

“plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.” — Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr

(the more things change, the more they remain the same)

    Wilmington NC 1898:

A violent mob, whipped into a frenzy by politicians, tearing apart a town to overthrow the elected government.

Following state elections in 1898, white supremacists moved into the US port of Wilmington, North Carolina, then the largest city in the state. They destroyed black-owned businesses, murdered black residents, and forced the elected local government – a coalition of white and black politicians – to resign en masse.

Historians have described it as the only coup in US history. Its ringleaders took power the same day as the insurrection and swiftly brought in laws to strip voting and civil rights from the state’s black population. They faced no consequences.

White militias – including a group known as the Red Shirts, so named for their uniforms – rode around on horseback attacking black people and intimidating would-be voters. When black people in Wilmington tried to buy guns to protect their property, they were refused by white shopkeepers, who then kept a list of those who sought weapons and ammo.

I find coming here and seeing all the hate is showing just how bad the democrat party is. But to honest I come here to read the comics as our local paper has few good comics. You maybe right that I come here to reinforce my belief that the democrats are a hateful group of people.
