Nice rendering on the side and front shots of Bill. If it wasn’t for the dastardly eyes he would be quite a handsome gent. Are we getting a little gritty in that 3rd panel ?
Well, if I’m reading this right, it means that the park where Pouch sells balloons is at least a little upriver from the docks. Anyway, now that Tracy and Sam have the scientific report from the coroner, I think they are ready to start putting together the evidence and moving the investigation ahead.
pschearer: I hope so! It’s kind of a return to the glory days of Dick Tracy!
As for the story, many commented yesterday about the lack of Dick Tracy in his own strip. Today ought to fix that. Hopefully, tomorrow we’ll return to Aquarius and Tiger Lilly.
After all, Dollar Bill is no longer where the action is at!
OK, I’m ready for the colour to come back. It was fine for the last venue, since it was all in the dark, but this is at the MCU office. Lights, please!
So that is why they had the arrow pointing to the blue balloon. They knew we would have more than a week where we could not tell which was the blud balloon. When I see Staton work without the color I am reminded just how good it is.
Just a point of semantics, but was the body found at the docks or in the river? Is it the same? In my mind, when I heard the body was found at the docks I didn’t see it in the river. I seem to recall the discussion being how did Tiger move the body to the docks at the time, which suggests I was not alone in my interpretation.
“Bill” looks a ‘lil like a frog, floating there…………but I doubt that he just hopped into the the river to take a leisurely swim, like a frog might do……yeah, I’d say “dumped”………
Maybe the colorist was told to stop doing Tracy for the rest of the story to avoid more mistakes – like the balloons and the hippies’ multicolor house.
Hey Dick and Sam are back. They must have found out how to get out of the escape room in that house they were going into almost a month ago. BTW, for those upset about Black and white, all the Gould weekday stuff was B/W. Good nourish technique. Now if the stories would catch up
Gritty? YES, it’s about time they stopped the restrictions and constraints on comics. Last couple of weeks i feel they’re getting back to the Gould type of comics. That’s what made Dick Tracy comic popular. What are they worried about, maybe the comics might lead to terrible things to happen in the streets? Last couple of weeks in Tracy comic, kidnapping, murder, attempted murder to Lilly?, They are so worried that comics might influence society? I wish! Comics are so docile these day if they did reflect to society then there should be less problems in society. Comics should have the same freedom as country allows to Antifa etc,
The puzzle parts are beginning to drift together. We’ve got "Floatin’ " Bill Dolan identified. How long before some evidence pops for his recent employment in Tracyville?
Meanwhile, poor old Pouch muscle Tiger Lilly, having been overwhelmed by greater muscle on behalf of Aquarius (Ty and Anonymous Thug #2), languishes in dire conditions in The 1312’s old root cellar (or whatever it once was). Unless something breaks fast (e.g., him), his future seems short and bleak.
Can we now please check out the secret contents of the Blue Balloon?…

No relation to The Spirit’s Commissioner Dolan I trust. But he does have a similarly shaped face.
