Not so much that Republicans are insane (although there’s some of that, too), but more that they are Traitors who hate democracy, racists, incredibly cruel, and devoid of many analysis skills.
.
Witness that they celebrate the attempted violent overthrow of the United States government. They celebrate Trump’s loyalty to and worship of Putin and yearn for a Russian oligarchy in America.
They engage in many forms of voter suppression and vote suppression for fear that Those People will be able to participate in government.
They celebrate the permanent destruction of families and locking children cages.
They fight like hell to achieve tax breaks for billionaires and increase wealth inequality.
They celebrate 435,000 American covid deaths while claiming Their Messiah, the Stable Genius, played no part in any of it.
Hiding under their desks last week, absolving Trump this week. Slimy, slippery eel-like organisms. Not even vertebrates anymore.
Newsletters were largely about Gamestop overnight, rage against the machine… Locally, car & residential break ins seem to be increasing. People in desperate straits driven to desperate acts.
Off topic. On this date, 1845, American author Edgar Allan Poe’s famously eerie poem “The Raven” was published in the New York Evening Mirror. This that and nothing more.
Same thing could be drawn for the DNC. Is Antifa still burning down the DNC headquarters and other businesses in Portland like they have been doing for the last 9 months in the DNC stronghold cities.
Keep them away? Why? You invited them in. You courted those votes. You fed those ridiculous theories and lies. You supported their enabler. You let that genie out of the bottle. They’re your creation. You keep them away.
I keep saying stereotyping an entire group of people just isn’t a good thing to do. Therefore, I applaud Stantis for acknowledging that there are some Republicans who reject the most extreme in their party. It’s just as true that many Democrats reject extremists in their party. The only way to get people in this country to be more civil is for them to acknowledge that there are more good people than there are bad, no matter what the party affiliation, race, gender, etc.
