Maybe the doctor will give you the good news that “Ziggy’s syndrome” has been named after you!

At least he wasn’t #99999.

Poor old Ziggy. They had to find someone to blame and it was just not your day.

Ahh, so this explains why the late actor Zero Mostel of Fiddler on the Roof, always was first in line at the doctor’s office.

Where is the nurses’ mask? And the others aren’t wearing theirs properly…

Ziggy is Patient Zero? Then COVID-19 should be called ZIGGY-19 the Ziggy Virus and we should be getting a Ziggy vaccination. That makes sense, it has been a comedy.

Doesn’t Patient Zero refer to the first sick person in a pandemic?

I heard that “patient zero” as the first person to have a disease that causes an epidemic or pandemic was the result of a misunderstanding.

Someone was researching the origins of the AIDS epidemic. In adhering to the patient privacy policy required of researchers, he assigned code names to the patients in his research. A lot of the code names he used consisted of the word “Patient” followed by a letter. Several patients described an airline worker who had been a partner. The researcher called that man “Patient O”. That’s the letter O, not the digit. But, it was misread as the digit for Zero.

I hope that’s the amount of his co-pay.

I got it. My question is, was this used before HIV? I only heard it when researchers figured out who Patient zero was.
