Isn’t there a mental disorder where people are unable to distinguish people’s face? Maybe since many of these people have not seen a real human face in so long this could have affected their mental state by now?

Aaron’s mastery of expression amazes me. The topsiders masks have no means of expression yet in panel two you can see concern in the operators mask and in panel three distress is obvious in Debbie’s expression. Nice touch, very subtle changes in the eye lens shape and grill make a huge difference.

Of course, then there is the use of a nickname and two question marks.

It wasn’t until today’s strip that I realized what’s missing on these environmental suits… name tags.

That light they thought they saw in the tunnel was an oncoming train…

It’s that portal pattern again, interfering with the suit’s visuals. Wonder if Ted/God has figured out how to project it into the goggles. It seems to be messing with her mind, as well as her vision… maybe this is how he enters their world fully (instead of just being a ghost in the machine).

I thought one of the things the suits did was make the sterile underground of the Topsiders look nicer, and the people look like people, not fellow rad suits.

The interference in Debbie’s goggles looks like it could be toothbrushes. Not good.

I thought they could see each other as normal, wout suits, through the goggles?

I guess they would have to be able to see each others faces to know who/which one is Debbie
