I never realized there could actually be an exact time where everything is pi.

I memorized it to 3.1415926535 when scientific calculators became common, but really using 3.1416 will get you to the moon with an error of only about 6 miles, so using more than 5 decimals is overdoing it for almost any common task.

My family always pie for every meal on Pi Day made to fit the meal. Several years ago we had 3 pies (one for every meal) with an addition of seven dessert pies. Note that we have not done that since.

In 2015 the University of Arizona Festival of Books/ Science City fell on 3/14. Lots of geeky fun was shared with non-geeks.

I take pride in being born on Pi Day (59 years ago, thanks for asking). Too bad I didn’t read the strip earlier today so I could post it all around.

Sorry, tau day is much better. tau is better than pi. If you’ve been dealing with pi in your math classes, you should try using tau instead and the equations become more intuitive.
