I dare someone in this house to design a system to toast frozen waffles in the fireplace. I dare you.

T.B. This accent is actually Filipino. Because, V is B, then F is P

At least BCN has a back up battery. The TB remote, not so much.

I’m always amazed at how I can recognize a person by their speech…I don’t mean family members, that’s a given, I mean TV or movie personalities….so unique

And following on from yesterday, I thought I would mention that clowns keep a record of their make-up on eggs.

    https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20171206-the-fascinating-reason-why-clowns-paint-their-faces-on-eggs

The three most famous clowns of all – Coco, Grock, and Grimaldi – are shown part way down.

There was an episode of The Avengers which involved clowns and the registry. As I recall, a lot of the eggs got broken.

I hope this power outage doesn’t last too long. I see the battery level of camera one is going down.

We build a fire as soon as the power goes out if it’s below 40 degrees out and we sleep in front of the fireplace. If we wait too long, it’s too hard to warm the house up.

The Girl is going to be disappointed…Rule #1 in power outs Is Do Not Open The Refrigerator! I wonder if this whole week will be adventures in fuzzy blankets in front of the fireplace? At least there are 4 cats..one per person for cuddling.

Camera’s on back-up battery power. Puck’s mic seems to be working fine. The TB (sic) seems to be ignoring the ermote (sic) but the kids are warm and snuggled up with a puffy little furball reporter.

Fire place fire, and maybe even a fireplace kettle of popcorn and some games. Who needs that salt lamp?

Again the cats are the best prepared. Their human pets just kind of go off into confusion, quite realistic

Where I live the power seems to go out on days when the weather is just fine, for no apparent reason, on my street and nearby streets only. I have no idea why.

Has anybody else noticed that the battery for the backup camera is losing power over recording? I honestly think something big is gonna happen right after the camera dies

I can’t laugh at the kids for expecting the TV and waffle maker to work since I have often tried to flip the light switch during an outage!

I happened to be on the BCN Zazzle page checking on an order and I saw that the BCN Friends face mask is an Editors’ Pick. Also they are 25% off right now.

In the pre-smartphone days and ubiquitous portable charging batteries, I remember sitting in my dorm during a power outage and one of my friends was pointing the remote at the tv in the common room and clicking. Finally someone said to him, “what are you doing?”. Answer, “I’m bored. I want to watch something.” I said, “Let’s wait and see how long it takes him to figure it out.”

I had something like that happen while I was working on a computer at my mom’s house. The computer went out and I kept plugging and unplugging the computer until finally my brother came into the room and said, “Is the power out all over, or just here?” I then realized the whole room was pitch black. When the power did come back on, so did the computer….

Only a week ago I was in this same predicament! Only no fireplace and our cat is still radioactive so no cuddling. She had a procedure and they advise minimal touch and wash hands after each touch for another week.

Let me guess, electric stove? Microwaved? I get the waffles being confusing as I doubt most of us use the truely old school waffle irons (think I’ve seen some at camper shows but never in stores like Wal-Mart, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond or even the local outdoor outfitters when it was actually a decent camping and sporting goods store). But the cocoa I have to ask how their making it.

They’ve got a fireplace, might wanna think about getting some camping cookwear for these instances (yeah, if they have something they could put regular kitchen cookwear over or near the fire it would sstill work). Would allow hot meals. Heck, hobo packs seem the order of the day even without the cookwear.

Back in the PC Neolithic age, I was taking programming at a technical college. I had an hour before a night class and was sitting in the break room going over a program printout looking for the typo that was the probable cause of it not working when all the lights went out. From down the hall came a chorus of “Oh Sh**” by those who were working on the PC’s and probably had not backed up to floppy. The only students who were saved from lost work were those working in the mainframe lab because it backed up automatically. Now I have a UPS plus a generator.

Aah, Robin, the Wikipedia Warrior. I studied Linguistics at University and committed the description of a particular sound to memory..decades ago, mind you. It’s the voiced apico-alveolar lateral with dorso-velar co-articulation. Try not to look up the definition dear..at least not immediately. See next comment/response
