Now you know why older Pluggers, otherwise known as “snowbirds” flock to places like my home metro area of Phoenix, AZ where they don’t have to worry about snow.;-D
I hate snow now. Just a little snow in my state made everything break. It’s almost as if Texans don’t know much about snow, for some mysterious reasons.
But if you ski, you look foreword to every new snowfall, which means you might ski into April; and those below normal temperatures extend the skating season.
Northeast Tennessee got snow on four consecutive weekends in Dec & Jan. We’ve had 13 snows so far this season (Oct to April), none lasting over four days. Just one (five inches) caused travel difficulties for folks without four-wheel drive. I look forward to more snow.
When we lived in Gulf Shores, Alabama hurricanes would dump unbelievable amounts of sand under our house on pilings. I used say I wished it was snow, at least snow melts sand don’t.
I spent 6 1/2 hours digging out from our one storm of the season. After growing up in Southern Idaho, living 2 years in Sun Valley and the last 40 years in Southwest WA State, this is the very first time I have to do this.My backyard and patio had drifts 3 to 4 ft deep. 2 foot deep against the patio doors. The front of the house and garage door anywhere from 2 to 5 ft. Front walkway was buried in 3 ft of snow. I didn’t remove all of it. Two shovels wide on the walkway and just enough that if I needed to I could get the SUV out.I walked down to the end of the driveway and the street had drifts over 3 ft high.Around the corner they looked to be 3 or more feet high, and stretched across the road way. No plows come up the hill to where we are located. I hated snow after the first shovel full removing it from the patio doors. It has pretty much all melted now, except for the huge piles made from clearing parking lots and such.
I am “done with snow” right after the first snowfall. I can get away from the cold by staying inside, but I have to go out to clear my sidewalk and driveway when it snows. We started out really slow this year with snowfall, but this month has been awful – 44 inches total so far, with no place to put any more snow. The snowbanks are very high and it looks like we are walking through a snow tunnel when going out for a walk. The good news is that we are having a warm-up this week and some of this white stuff will be melting with no more snow to fall in the foreseeable future. I know that they have it worse in some places, but feeling badly for them doesn’t make our situation here any better.
Yesterday we had 8" of heavy wet snow. (T-2" was the prediction). 2 hours to get it shoveled and it was a wonderful way to get outdoors for some fresh air.
Isn’t this about time for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue to come out? My favourite issue was the issue after that with all the outraged middle school librarians decrying the pron. In this day of the internet those letters should decrease.
Bad, bad timing for this. I just finished shoveling for the 5th time in the last 6 days. Fortunately, it’s not the huge amounts that some poor souls receive, but I’’m still running out of places to put it. (No, I can’t put it there)

It doesn’t even take me 2 weeks before I’m tired of it. I’ll give it 10 days at the most.

Depends on where a plugger lives, how long s/he has lived there, and how able/willing they are to deal with the snow. SOME of us actually like it : )

We wintered in Florida for 14 years, had enough of the congestion there, we have liked the north for the last 11 years by comparison!!!!!!!!!

I used to live there but couldn’t take the heat! Also the hard water.

Lived in the north all my life and winter isn’t all that bad, although the wind chill does take the enjoyment out of it.

Snow is wonderful. It is slush, especially black slush along the roads, that is terrible.
Also, if it is going to snow, give me 2 feet, not 2 inches.
