There are very many good reasons why Amelia doesn’t want to be associated with Spud. Give me a moment and I’ll think of one.

legends say when spud and amelia are too close too each other space-time breaks and reality folds in on itself

thats why amelia looks terrified but ofc we the readers cant know so she pretends its because she hates spud (well she does hate spud but thats not the main reason)

amelia about to go to the feral one so the feral one can summon a demon to stop amelia and spud be class partners

Notice how the reversed ‘nd’ also looks like pu and then fading out, so its looks like its spelling spud twice, one in the lower, one in the upper half of the speech balloon, going in different directions from the sss . Vertigo inducing. I wonder if that was planned.

It’s like the Matrix saga all over again.

I wasn’t expecting Spud’s line – but that was a smiler!

Amelia is beside herself!!

Amelia and Spud’s project should be about methane.

I predict Spud will clear the classroom.

8th Grade Science Class. I was partnered with Maria Morrison. All I can recall are her tight, white blouse, her long, blonde hair, and a hint of perfume, but I’m sure there must have been some science involved at some point.

Look, even the universe is trying to stick you two together now, Amelia, so you might as well just roll with it.

Years ago I was in a head on auto accident. I remember everything in slow motion, so why not this disaster in the making?

This start to looks like a curse. Poor Amelia. But at least Spud is a nice kid.

I wish they did this system when I was at school. I was always left out. Snifff.

Small observation, in the first panel, our little boi Spud is sitting in his chair. Yet in the last panel, he walks into the classroom like he wasn’t there to begin with.

At least Spud didn’t eat garlic salad…
