One Valentine’s Day my cat brought me a dead rabbit. Took her half an hour to get it over the six-foot fence. She really wanted me to have it. I thanked her very profusely but did not even taste it She has apparently decided rabbits are more trouble than they are worth. It hasn’t happened again.
Too bad Chesney’s romantic gesture went unappreciated. Perhaps he should have presented Mimieux with a fish. On another note, saw a woodpecker and a flock of finches (about ten or twenty of them) while out walking today. I also saw a squirrel and a sparrow outside.
Today, in order to make just a bit more Valentine Joy, I made up a large batch of French bread. Made three heart shaped loaves. Gave one to my neighbor Rex (who is a great help to everyone in the neighborhood), and one to my daughter, and kept one for myself. My daughter gave me a box of Russell Stover dark chocolates, socks with Dachshunds on them, and a funny card. High today was 18…just after midnight…16 or 17 all day with light snow. At 6 pm, it began to sleet. Now it is snowing like mad…expecting 6-12 inches by Monday night. It will be in the single digits tomorrow. I am not at all sure how I am going to get Lady Bird out to the yard and back up the ramps. I have both snow shovel and leaf blower ready. Used the leaf blower this afternoon. Thanks, Carol, for that suggestion.

Excellent Graham :-)
Is Chesney going to try for a pair of boots?
DennisinSeattle almost 4 years ago
Mimieux requires a rose, at least, before she will talk to you. Or maybe some shrimp tails will do.

I doubt if the boot is from Mimiuex

I wonder if Jack has a Valentine for Mimieux too? It could be hard to beat Chesney’s poem.

Today is:
Valentine’s Day (as if I needed to remind anyone)
National Organ Donor Day (another way of giving someone a heart)
National Cream Filled Chocolates Day
National Ferris Wheel Day. It’s still too cold for that. They’re predicting our high temperature today will not go above zero. Brrrrrrrrr!
World Marriage Day

Nothing beats a smelly boot, except maybe for a good poem.

I love this! But, does Mimeaux? I don’t think she wants a boot from you Chesney ~~ except maybe to use it on you.

Thank you, Graham, for this. Am missing Mimieux as much as Chesney and Jack. At least he isn’t tongue tied this time.
