My son mentioned that problem. He said he walked into a room and stopped because he forgot why he came in. So he backed through the door he came in and the memory returned. Then he said, BUT it doesn’t work with two doors. That works. . . sometimes.
Reminds me of the joke, preacher tells old man that at his age he should be giving a lot of thought about the here-after. Old man responds, son I think about the here-after every day. Every time I open a drawer or walk into a room I think, what am I here after?
Usually, this happens to me when I come into a room with multiple purposes such as I need to get my phone and while I am there, I will get a glass of water and put my FitBit in the charger. I usually get two out of three.
I always force myself to go back and get the missing object. It is my “punishment” for forgetting. Also it helps me get my steps for the FitBit and keeps the body in shape, if not the mind.

Was it for a cold soft drink?
Was it for the kitchen sink?
Was it for a slice of bread?
I think I’ll have this cake instead!
