It always such a fabulous fun Friday with these fabulous fun funnies called BOZO!
And why wouldn’t they be for these was created by the tremendously talented FoXo Reardon who never needed his characters to say a single word to tell his funny tales!
Fabulous FoXo told em all with his awesome artwork alone, making every panel look like a photograph of a three dimensional cartoon world of realistic-looking depths and details. Such was his powerful perspective artwork which brought to life a lovely lively world of BOZO!
FoXo a rare combination of both sharp wits and artistic talents which is rarely seen together in the same cartoonist, a true master and professional cartoonist whose work quality speaks for itself and as you can see for yourself BOZO is pure gold coming from a golden era of cartooning, an especially excellent epitome of pictures speaking thousand words!
And nothing could diminish FoXo’s work quality, not even cancer, as he continued creating brilliantly till his end days even while left with only one eye, lovely comics which is a treat to our both eyes as well as the mind.
So no wonder that these wonderful wordless wonders still bring great joy and sheer cheer to many even after so many decades and eras later too!
But despite being a great classic of great creative calibre, neither BOZO nor FoXo are much known or remembered these days.
Spread the word, friends, so that BOZO can spread more joy and cheer to many many more!
…
And yes of course another big thumbs up, big applause, and three cheers once again for the marvellous master FoXo’s magnificent masterpiece, the most pleasant picturesque pantomime, the ever entertaining ever energetic ever enjoyable ever excellent evergreen entertainer, the brilliantly beautiful and beautifully brilliant BOZO!
BOZO 1- Nothing like a BIG FIRECRACKER to spook Ole Buttons. Bozo never thought about his novelty exploding matches which blows up in his face and knocks Ole Fuzzy off the wall. BOZO 2- Men figure they can chat with the ladies anytime, but to find out where you catch a beauty of a fish is priceless. BOZO 3- I think Bozo kind of figures the old saying “I’ve been kicked out of better joints than this!” Such a good kick, win a cigar.
I hate to take up so much of everyone’s post but as I stood up and got another cup of coffee, a song “I Get A Kick Out Of YOU” went through my head. So BOZO 3 is like the lyrics I get no kick from Champagne Mere alcohol doesn’t thrill me at all So tell me why should it be true That i get a kick Out of you! Sorry for the extra post.
1) POP TILL YOU DROP: July 4 is the time to blow up the cops. Unfortunately, he uses a smaller firecracker to light the block buster. As with many bombers he mistimed, and the thing exploded in his face and the big one isn’t lit. O’ Farrell turns a jaundiced eye to him!
2) EYE CANDY NOT ENOUGH: Bozann gathers the crowd while muscleman fisherman Bozo carries the big one away. But uh-ho no the men immediately gloms on to it leaving the hot babe blond alone!
3) THERE IT IS: Bozo forgot his cigar, so he runs back in gets it and is kicked out again!
Foxo was very well known throughout the area during his years with the Times-Dispatch. He walked into the editor’s office one day and found the editor and the Mayor of Richmond in conversation. As the editor started to introduce him to the Mayor, he was cut short by the mayor with the words, “Everybody knows Foxo.” Foxo’s position was an open door to meeting many interesting people. On one occasion Billy Conn, who nearly defeated Joe Louis for the World Heavyweight Boxing title, visit the Times-Dispatch. Since Conn was interested in cartooning, he was brought by to see Foxo, who was impressed with Conn’s cartooning ability. In Foxo’s words, “He was pretty good.” {Taken from my book, "Whistling Down the Halls, The Times and Cartoons of America’s Original Pantomime Comic Strip Artist}.

2 Most of the crowd realizes that they have a better shot with the fish. (She’s a Beauty—The Tubes)

1. You’ve been outmatched. Might want to master the little things before you take on the bigger ones.
2. Her bait proved effective, as was Bozo’s. They’ll both have stories about the ones that got away.
3. Umbrella guy gone to ground… for a night on the town. His chapeau and bumbershoot… found… on the ground.
