Went to a live Cardinals game once on a company outing. Thankful I didn’t have to pay for that snooze fest. Had it not been for having friends with me I’d have fallen asleep. Base ball is SOOoooo boring in person because for the most part only 2 people are doing anything at any given time and to make it worse they have so many commercial break pauses.
Guess one just has to be a baseball fan, having a team to root for. My dad taught me the love of the game; and even though I now live on Cape Cod, I still root for the SF Giants, the team I grew up with, living in Sacramento. Been a fan of the game for over 60 years.
One of the most memorable times I saw a game in person was when I went to a Cardinal game with several other guys from work. We had a betting pool where we randomly picked one player from each team and the winner was the one whose two players accounted for the most total bases. I don’t remember who my non-Cardinal player was, but my Cardinal player was Ted Simmons, and it was his birthday! He went crazy that night, including a Grand Slam! I cleaned up… ☺
The longer I read this strip, the more I think talking animals are all phantasms of a very damaged mind. Wilco always also seems to be at home, so therefore I could imagine he is homebound due to mental duress and perhaps schizophrenia.
Looked at like that, Pinkish really is a sympathetic case, lost in his own world that nobody else can fully experience.

Bucky should have his own late-night TV show … he’s WAY funnier than the current lot of unfunny idiots.

Well there’s 3 people I wouldn’t want to meet in a bar. What a boring life with no passion for sports.

Once you adopt your pets, you are a family and you love and tolerate each other. But Pinkie here has a very high tolerance!
