Reminds me of when Mrs. Claus went over Snow-Miser & Heat-Miser’s heads, straight to Mother Nature. The conversation in the immediate future could go something along the lines of:
“Now that looks familiar. And how did ye come by that hat, dearie?” (eyeing Natasha suspiciously)
“I took it from a little man who was threatening the children in the Big Pink House.”
“He was doing what?” (Turns to the side) “Seamus! Get in here this instant!!”
I wonder how much of the leprechaun gold and wallet contents the Robber Mice will be keeping after this. I can see Granny letting them keep the gold (“Serves him right!”) but making them return the wallet (“It’s got his ID and credit cards, y’see.”).
Maybe the grandmas can invite the children to this truth telling tea. With a little perspective they could be building leprechaun houses instead of traps! These grandmas give me hope for the BCN kindness that usually abounds in this world…we certainly all can use it!
I don’t know why this comic, especially, but I’m really appreciating Georgia’s watercolors here. What a narrow escape we all had, so lucky that she decided to go back to doing her own beautiful painting instead of leaving it to a colorist like other cartoonists!
So the leprechaun has a grandmother? This ought to be interesting. My grandmother from my mother’s side was from County Kerry in the Emerald Isle, in the far SW of the island with the closest big city being Cork. Her name was Hannah and she had a love of cats which all of her children, grandchildren and so on also love as I do and her great daughter Amy does. When I was a kid I remember her always having cats around her house in St Pete, especially after my grandfather died in 1975.
My Mom’s favorite story about grandma Hannah happened before I was born by several weeks. In January 1965 my mother was very pregnant with me. My sister Susan, who just turned one year old, was very sick with flu. My Grandma Hannah offered to look after my 2 older sisters: Diane and Gayle who were 9 and 7 at the time. Anyhow my Grandma took them to a Celtic pub over in Pinellas County where she did several Jameson shots to commemorate the passing of one Winston Churchill with a boatload of other expats from County Kerry and Cork as he brought the “Black and Tan bullies” into the south of Ireland who ravaged the villages and forced many people like my Grandmother to go to the States or Canada during the Irish Civil War of the early 1920s, so they did not see him as a hero as many history books report. My Mom was mad as hell but in time it became a story to tell the family and my oldest sister Diane said the Irish folks in the pub were really nice despite the fact that they drank like fish and a cab had to be called to bring everyone home….
Uh-oh!!! When Gramma enters the picture, somebody is in deep, deep, deeeppp trrrouble!!! I predict an ear-pulling, nose-tweaking, scrum perpetrated upon the lil monster that Natasha vanquished.
Now I think there is some serious anti-leprechaun bias in this crowd. It’s not like the human kittens are all innocent in this matter. They are the ones who tried to kidnap the Fey folk and ransoms them for their gold. Is this a behavior that should be celebrated? If so, I know of some cute Somali pirates you can adopt.
Natasha with her crossed arms looks very peeved. No one but Baba Mouse could chastise Natasha! And I think Baba made Natasha wear the hat that Mr Leprechaun lost.
I just hope those people who don’t think I have a “right” to ask them about their vaccination status understand when I shun them. Actually, I don’t really care if they don’t don’t understand, because their attitude tells me they don’t care about others. NOT sorry I said that.

At first I thought the china pattern must be Royal Albert’s “Old English Rose” but after a bit of research I believe it is Lefton’s “Americana.”

Lupinium: Wait, I think the mice, the mice are calling!
