Back in the days when I was flying, we’d take off at oh-dark-thirty, fly around the Pacific Ocean, find and island and land.

So we’d be finishing up work at 8 AM after a 12- or 16-hour day. So people going to work would see us, red-eyed, unshaven with a beer in our hands at this hour.

My mom would ask me if I had jet lag. The answer was no; we never adjusted to the local time.

No. But, it’s normal for you to whine during your waking hours.
