Interesting…I actually fall asleep faster if I pick one of my to-do projects (a hobby one, not a drudgery one) and work on it, planning solutions. I usually last about 3-5 minutes.
By the time I hit the bed at 10 PM I am so exhausted, I can’t possibly stay awake.
Occasionally I do get up at 3 AM with a brilliant solution to a problem I’ve been working on. Sometimes it even makes sense and does not involve unicorns or building something out of a Phineas and Ferb script.
Last night, all could dream about was vacuuming—inside, outside, didn’t matter.
Here’s one to think about: According to certain scientific findings, the brain uses at least 20% of all calories consumed. Now, since some brains work 2 and 1/22 times faster than that, and are working 24/7, how come one can’t eat more and lose weight?
I just watch the bedroom TV. Keeps my mind off the above-mentioned worries. I estimate my “drop off” time @ 3 minutes. It kinda works like a “white noise” to my brain.
For me its closing my eyes and watch the images that come up. Concentrating on my breathing, and recite a phrase (mantra if you like). If I can keep focused asleep in 10 minutes

Anyone got a solution to this? My brain is all over the map at night, and then I can’t wake up in the morning.

Aunty, if you entertain an idea, be kind to it. It’s a stranger in a strange land.

Never think of anything when you’re trying to get to sleep. Anything you think of can run into tangents that will keep you awake for hours.
If you count sheep you’ll start noticing differences in all the sheep…
