Poor dog, he led the duck right past so you could get a shot at it and you didn’t.
It is not polite to point.
One time I had the joy of watching a hunter get attacked by a flock of ducks. The guy himself wasn’t hurt, but his coat was covered with duck refuse!
A smart dog.. he points for pheasants but for ducks lures them over land where they are easier to retrieve.. if only the hunters did their bit.
In a slightly related vein, this oldie:
“You told me this cat was good for mice! He hasn’t caught one!”
“Well, isn’t that good for mice?”
