National Fragrance Day

National Common Courtesy Day. This is something we need more of.

World Down Syndrome Day

National Countdown Day. I’ve been counting down a LOT lately. Counting down days until I can plant my garden, counting down days until I get a week’s vacation in May, counting down the days to my week’s vacation in July, counting down the days until this stupid Covid thing is gone, etc., etc.

National California Strawberry Day. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a GOOD California strawberry. The ones we get in the stores are dry and hard. Completely tasteless, like eating cardboard. Cardboard might have more flavor than California strawberries, though it would not be a good flavor. I’m counting down the days when I can get good LOCAL strawberries.

National French Bread Day.

And eating rooms, thus the life of a cat.

The cats always have interchangeable rooms.

Another month or so, no one will want a sun room.

Hey, Tad1. Heard, then saw, a courting? cardinal pair while out on doggie walk this afternoon. Both birds were beautiful. More doves are around and the plumpest robins. Bulbs popping out of just about everyone’s lawns. Still, we are keeping our snow shovels handy for a while longer. March is treacherous.

What a nice fantasy. A sunroom (or any kind of greenhouse) would be neat to hang out in. Napping in one sounds quite pleasant, especially if you’re a cat. On another note, saw a robin and four finches while out walking today.

heard the woodpecker going at it this morning, and the peepers this evening. sounds of spring

I got to see two (2!) Kingfisher at the bridge into the Taft district. They were within just a couple of feet of each other on a telephone wire that crosses there.

One isn’t all that rare here, but seeing two together is.
