Mirth was definitely in the top 5 desires in my youth.. sadly, the autocorrect of life changed it to girth.

I have been told way too many times “wipe that smirk from your face” – sadly I have a face that smirks when I smile. OHHH the trials of life!!!

My mother before she died told me “you don’t smile and laugh enough”. I told her I do smile and laugh when I have provocation to.

My son’s smile often looks like a smirk. It has been known to anger people until they come to know him.

I once told a classmate to smile. She explained her grandmother had just died and she was trying to figure out how to deal with it.

Years later I went on a date with a cousin of hers. She had heard of my misdeed. My irritating personality doesn’t quit, it seems. I wonder how many others have heard how bad I was for trying to get someone to look on the good of life.
