I was never comfortable grilling but Arlo sounds like a couple of my sons and son-in-laws, and one daughter-in-law’s father.

I grill year round. Got a ham in the fridge waiting for Easter. Four hours cook time using charcoal with apple and hickory chips.

I was planning on a couple of quick hot dogs but I was given a list today and it’s going to be an all day affair. Just so much pollen right now my truck has a yellow haze to it.

If they don’t eat all that they can send some to my place I have forgotten what it’s like to eat grilled or smoked food!

From Arlo’s list, it sounds like he’s responsible for the meat and neighbors will bring the main dishes, salads, desserts, bread/rolls and beverages.

Is Arlo trying to give Dagwood some competition as the biggest chowhound?

We’ve been cooking on the grill all winter. We don’t let minor problems like snow slow that down;)

Great way to meal prep! Get all the meat cooked over the weekend.

BBQing is year round for me and I have the ability to make it rain just before I walk outside to turn the grill on. That being said there is something very pleasant about the smells that emanate from the BBQ in the cold winter air.

Too cold here. Our weather has gone up into the 70Fs a few times and then back down into the 20 to 40Fs on and off. Nice warm weather during a couple of days this past week (I do walk outside daily to the mail box at our front door to take in the mail and to the street to put out garbage once a week – and about once a week we drive to USPS mail collection box to send out mail so I appreciated the warm weather) then a freeze warning.
