    @Number Three Sadly , today’s strip again is an unfunny repeat with no punchline , why is our Hero Mr Andrew Capp breaking the 4th wall in the second frame? :o{ my avatar is a spoof of a doctor diagnosing a man to have chronic stupidity for which there is no cure ,like the new guys think we are , how was your day, and did you get any chocolate eggs or bunnies? our Manic Monday should be busy as usual but we should cope I hope in spite of the rain and wind , we are both in a good mood and have no more errands to run , keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady

    I thought that it was the "Job Center’s " job to look for jobs for people?

    Same with the psychologist; just tell the truth, he’ll label you quite barmy.

    that is why Andy was honest. honesty is the best policy and it prevented him from getting the job which was his goal.

    In Andy’s case, honesty was the best policy.

    You must be new around here, that’s the point.

    Just out of curiosity, is possible for an otherwise healthy individual in GB to collect unemployment for an unlimited length time?

    Do we know if Andy was ever employed? I read somewhere that he was either a sign painter or a hod carrier, but these were only suggested as jobs before the strip started.

    Andy seems to be content with that.

    @Afficionado

    The characters have always broken the fourth wall. Reg Smythe made that popular which is why I love those beloved Golden Oldies so much.

    Sadly, I got no Easter Eggs. But I do have some Cadbury Milk Tray and mint chocolate to be demolishing.

    I’m not sure if anybody has noticed but it looks like Mahoney is back. His name is on the strip again.

    Easter was pretty much a normal time for me. We’re not religious in any way.

    Stay safe, stay well and stay happy, pal.

    It has been said that Andy is the European equivalent of Maynard G. Krebbs. The European equivalent of Gilligan (the other character played by Bob Denver) would be an accident prone fellow named Gaston Lagaffe. (No, it’s not Captain Haddock, you Bashi Bazouks!) Incidentally, there is another European cartoon character named Lucky Luke that looks a lot like Bob Denver, yet is absolutely nothing like Maynard or Gilligan.
