Red, how many pennies would you need to buy me a box of milky bones?

I have a lot of thoughts to sell.

I wanna know what Rover was thinking.

Last time I saw a penny gumball machine, it cost 25¢

Oh man, love that time warp sofa and drapes. Won’t get a penny for that! Ha

Now this REALLY dates the strip. I remember when you could get a gumball for a penny. The dispensers had little round glass globes on top.

Don’t think anything is a penny anymore

Reminded me of this exchange from C&H:

I loved those gumball/candy machines. Those were the days, sigh ;)

Or you can get the licorice ones off of the floor around the gumball machine for free…

Fact: A penny isn’t even worth a penny any more. It costs Uncle Sam more to make them than they’re worth yet they keep cranking them out losing money on every one per Government Economics 101.
