Johnson will never escape, the natives are about to go on a spear-chucking rampage once King Fatso gives the word. Good thing Tarzan and Charlie are on the short drop end of the ropes, they will only have sore throats once they are cut down. Where’s June? Her plan has gone to pieces. A nice quicksand end would be well-deserved, or perhaps she’ll be carried off by a sex-starved Bolgani………..
Don’t be alarmed folks! The artist actually drew ropes that are out of our view around Tarzan’s and Laver’s waists that are tied to the tree limb which are supporting their weight, NOT the ropes we see around their necks.
Odd way to end the strip. Rest in peace, Tarzan. Somebody really should go find Jane and let her know she is a widow. It won’t make much change to her life, since she seldom saw him anyway.
Tarzan swings over and wraps his legs around Charles then inches up taking the pressure off Tarzan’s neck. The last thing Charles hears is Tarzan saying, “Sorry dude, survival of the fittest.”
Plot possibilities. The ropes are so old and frayed, they snap. The tree is so old and frayed, it snaps. Tantor thunders in and rescues them. Two shots ring out severing each rope and Jane walks up saying, “I took sharp shooting lessons and came in search of you. Time to come home, Tarzan Dear.”
OK!, end of story. Johnson and the babe get away, and Zan and Laver do the rope dance. I guess it can’t always be a happy ending, that’s what makes these stories so much fun!

This is ridiculous. Tarzan and Laver should be either dead or have serious neck injuries. But we know they will be safe and sound.

Bit of a stretch I’d say,

Be careful, said Tarzan, this is tricky. Don’t mention piñatas.

Um… how is executing the two guys sentenced to death going to distract the natives, exactly?
