I’m sure my other half will spot the rotary phone quickly. We can’t go into an antique store without him dialing every one he sees. On the plus side, if I can’t find him, I just have to listen for the sound of dials spinning.
Took me a little bit to find the lamp (torchiere). But what’s inside the lamp that looks kinda like Puck in a ruffled collar/coffee filter? I love that ‘Guess What? Chicken Hut!’ bucket.
I see that the raccoons are helping increase the viewership and ratings of BCN! I can not remember the last time I have seen a rotary phone that is not in a museum either. Nice nostalgic Sunday cartoon with a scavenger hunt list to boot. Also love how the people are perplexed about their garbage can being rummaged through!
What an outstanding piece of Sunday comic artwork. Back in the day, as many of you will remember, the Sunday comics took up four to six pages and the strips were huge and many of them quite detailed like Prince Valiant. I miss those strips.
Thanks, Georgia. The was a lot of fun and beautiful to see.
P.S., I still haven’t found that last robber mouse!
Ah yes, we had a family of trash pandas living under our back deck last summer. It was Trashy, his girlfriend, and their baby Teddy. Yes, we named them.
I want Raccoon Palace blown up to an 8 foot wide wallpaper! Chicken Bucket Dress is incredible. Their electrician should also get a round of applause. (One robber mouse at the lower left is either fixing or preparing to steal a light bulb.) Not sure what that is in the upper right by the Moon; looks exactly like a spermatozoon.
Over on Facebook, Georgia has a quick video of her inking in today’s comic. Here’s what she wrote about it "A video from a few weeks ago when I was inking/painting today’s Sunday strip! Many of you may recall when I first shared this, but I thought it would be fun to post again today! This video is shot at 2x speed. This Sunday probably took about 7-9 hours, start to finish. About an 1-2 to sketch, and then it was inked over an evening and painted over another, along with the 6 daily strips that week—which likely took about 5-6 hours themselves…I have “ink nights” and “painting” nights and all seven weekly strips get done together each time. Each evening work shift is around 6-7 ish hours. I know I spent a little extra time on this one because I was having a lot of fun with it! Hope you enjoy it today!
I love your art! It reminds me of something from my childhood, some book, some art, I can’t remember what, but the light, the wordless sense of parties. I love it.
The raccoon taking a bubble bath! And the baby and the older one eating popcorn (out of a colander) while watching BCN! There’s a second colander in front of the (box spring?) with the baby raccoons; they obviously haven’t figured out what to do with that yet.
Wonder what the bundled purple stuff in the milk crate is. And what is Thimblefist cradling? (Could be a cell phone?)
Mags’ lawn chair/throne’s fabric pattern, and the pattern of the planting pot with the lookout-raccoon! Obviously, the trumpet is for calling emergency scatter. Though how he’s supposed to keep watch with a kaleidoscope as a telescope…
I’m very glad that Georgia did not do the astronomy-ignorant thing of putting stars in the dark part of the moon.

I’m missing one baby raccoon and one can, but I don’t care. What a joy to look at Georgia’s beautiful watercolors.

Relaxin’ in her high throne
Mags has a cozy place to spend the night
Sandman is callin’
Seems she can hear his voice, “oh yeah, girl, sleep tight”
A starry night by Georgia
It’s a starry night by Georgia
Cat, I believe it’s peaceful all over the world
I feel like it’s peaceful all over the world
Fireflies a-flashin’
Flickerin’ as they do in magic flight
A robber lady on a sax
Seems to play a soulful refrain in moonlight
But it’s a starry night by Georgia
Such a starry night by Georgia
Cat, I wish it could be peaceful all over the world
I feel like it’s peaceful all over the world
How many times I wondered
It seems that life’s a game
No matter how you look at it or think of it
There’s something for everyone just the same
Findin’ joy in all that we can
Happenin’ at random or unfoldin’ to a plan
Late at night when it’s time to rest
I think of creatures I love best and I feel fine, I feel fine
‘Cause it’s a starry night by Georgia
Baby, it’s an amazing scene by Georgia
Cat, I believe it’s peaceful all over the world
