I love Elvis’ look of righteous indignation. (๑′ᴗ‵๑) His work ethic is much to be admired; however, I am trying to ignore the old adage, “Early to rise and early to bed, makes a cat healthy but socially dead.” ;p
Cool “The Who” reference! I have not thought about that band since the various CSI shows used the Who for their various theme songs. Anyhow, I did see them live once, July 29, 1989. They played Tampa Stadium for the “The Kids Are Alright Tour”. Good concert that had 2 long sets and an encore. The first set started with the “Tommy” rock opera, very nice! I understand this was their only tour between the early ’80s and mid ’90s. Anyhow here is the set list I found online. The tickets were about $20 or $22 and it was a sellout. Good memories.
BTW, I am confident Goldie will find Lupin, love how Elvis had an early bedtime but still can note all the damage that Lupin allegedly did in the living room at a precise time in the wee hours of the morning!
I could bearly read that little red text on my teeny tiny device screen. Now that I has zoomed in, what on earth is a Keith moon? A moon around an outer space planet Keith from where pesky outer space aliens come from? Is that a typo that was supposed to say Sharing a hotel room within Keith’s moon? Is that where pesky outer space aliens stay before they launch themselves towards earth to pester earth creatures?
Cats have busy days…protecting the house from mail carriers, scaring away birds at the window, eating, bathing. ..whew! No wonder they need 20+hrs of sleep a day!!
Georgia, Thanks for the Keith Moon reference. It appears some of the younger readers may not understand the Keith Moon reference or reputation. He did have quite the reputation for hotel room destruction when he was on tour. I wonder if that was who Joe Walsh was making a reference to in “Life’s Been Good” (I live in hotels, tear out the walls,I have accountants pay for it all). Good times.
There is a scene in the movie, “The Kids are All right” where the Who are going to be on the Ed Sullivan Show.
They are told that the performance will be lip-synced because the show does not trust them to play within bounds. They are also informed that stations are at the ready to block the broadcast, censor them.
So, to make it obvious that it is recorded, watch Keith Moon. His drum sticks while he is “playing” hover about 4 inches above his drum skins the whole time. He seems to be on his best behaviour, but his knowing smile and exaggerated stick playing are very funny.
Pete did manage to destroy his guitar, and Keith did turn over his drums, at the end of the song. Roger just walked over to Ed for a quick interview, and John Entwistle melted into the background.
Goldie has begun her investigation, but she had not donned the Deerstalking cap…and where is little Dr. Watson (Puck)
Keith John Moon (23 August 19462 – 7 September 1978) was an English drummer for the rock band the Who. He was noted for his unique style and his eccentric, often self-destructive behaviour and drug addiction.
As long as we are including musicians today—a very happy 88th birthday to Willie Nelson, an American treasure! Dang this pandemic, I can’t wait for him to be on the road again! Along with all the others—Bon Jovi is doing a live virtual concert that will be available in this area at a couple of drive-in theaters. I can’t decide if that is cool or heartbreaking. But still trying to win a car pass on the classic rock radio station…(yes, my musical tastes are quite eclectic!)
OMC. Yesterday’s BCN was imitated by one of my cats yesterday.
We spotted one of our cats peeing on the ride on mower and decided that since it was outside we wouldn’t tell him off (he has a broken head and most likely brain damage as a result, and occasionally pees inside) and then he celebrated by running sipper fast right up the nearest tree. My partner and I were in hysterics over it.

Pucky Mason and The Case of the Horked Shoes
Pucky: Mr. District Attorney, are the Robber Mice going to testify to the same thing?
Hamlupin Burger: Yes.
Pucky: The Defense is willing to stipulate to their testimony.
Burger: In that case, the Prosecution naps, I mean rests.
Judge Baba Mouse: Mr. Mason, call your first witness.
Enter detective Goldie Drake.
Goldie: I found him, Pucky. He’s right outside the courtroom.
Pucky: Your Honor, I wish to call to the stand the Medical Examiner.
Bailiff: Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help you, Cat?
Medical Examiner: I do.
Bailiff: State your name.
ME: Doctor Donald Illya McCallum. Better known as Docky.
Pucky: What is your occupation, Dr. Docky?
ME: I am the district Medical Examiner. I have been ME for three years now, prior to that I was a professor of Medical Stuff at the University of…
Pucky: Thank you, Docky. We know of your illustrious career. Please tell us about your analysis of the contents of the shoe in question.
Burger: Wasn’t that rather yucky?
Docky: Yes, but I specialized in teaching Yuck at the University. I particularly remember this one case where there was a certain substance that…
Pucky: Thank you, Docky. Now what about this substance?
Docky: Well, it appeared to be consistent with what we call mozzarella cheese.
Pucky: And how did you reach that conclusion?
Docky: I simply read the label on the wrapper.
(Tomorrow: The conclusion)
