I am definitely a cat person, and I despise the beagle breed ever since I was bitten by one as a child. I have no problems with Snoopy, since I can also distinguish between cartoons and reality. Sometimes.
I loved cats more as a young child, but have not been owned by one in several years…I did rescue a small terrier a couple of years back who exhibits very cat-like tendencies. A cat-dog is an excellent compromise…
I’m thinking this must be before the Internet-promoted popularity of cats. Young people may not realize it, but only people who actually had a cat got to see the remarkable varieties of behavior before the Internet “let the cat out of the bag”.

Hate to break it to you, Snoopy old boy, but CATS have been the #1 pet in the world since the mid 80’s … How’s it feel to be a distant 2nd?

I read an article in Scientific American about the domestication of animals.
Dogs and humans sort of adopted each other. Other animals such as sheep, cattle, goats and horses were domesticated by humans thousands of years ago.
The authors of the article debate not as to when cats were domesticated, but rather, IF cats are domesticated.
I like dogs, I tolerate cats (I think the feeling is mutual).

Prejudiced much, Snoopy?
This one of the few plot lines I never liked. Snoopy isn’t that mean or he would never be who he is.
