I write poetry and short essays. I’ve had times I came up with the title first, and times I didn’t come up with a title until some time after I finished it. I’ve also had times I wrote the middle first.

    ‘Z’

Start with that, by the time you come up with the rest of the title, the story will have written itself.

Spoiler alert from someone who has edited or graded hundreds of manuscripts. The first chapter of most first novels is almost always deleted anyway. Just cut off the inner critic and write the dang novel.

Ahh… the curse of terseness. Sometimes I can be verbose making comments here. But, when it comes to purposely writing anything longer, my brain shuts off after the initial beginning, middle and end ideas are put down. Suddenly, everyone was run over by a truck. the end

Just write it first instead of expecting it to be perfection first instead of last. Save the rejections you have too
