It won’t be a total loss. The kid is bound to pickup some colorful new words from dad.

Yeah, but just watch him screw up the lesson with an ace.

Teaching the kid how to waste enormous amounts of time.

Thought he was taking the kid to the track, at first.

Just so I understand: This is a lesson, dad wants his son to learn about failure (by setting him up for failure):

In order to be a succeed in the lesson, he has to fail.

… So if he fails, he is a success.

… But he succeeds, then he has failed to fail …

… which is success … but success is failure …

Well, there’s already have a good start on learning about futility.

(From dad’s point of view: as long as I get to play golf, it’s a success.)
