A while back, I read a comment from someone who had a large RV. He had a pair of walkie-talkies, which he referred to as the “mon-back machine.” When the RV was in reverse, the driver had one, and someone on the outside had the other. The driver would hear “’mon back … ’mon back … ’mon back … WHOA! STOP! [CRUNCH SKREEEE].”
The 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic didn’t completely ‘end’ until a fourth wave in the spring of 1920, so I’m sure parents of the time were still rather concerned with protecting their babies from various diseases and ailments going around.
80: “I’ll take that under advisement, Mr. Chigger.”
75: Skeex is giving Wilmer a LOT of rope with this Gloriana hotel deal, and Bobble is pulling in every inch of it to make sure things go jusssssst right on his end.
60: I like how Bill Perry has Corky getting it in the last panel, while Skeezix is still trying to figure it out, heh.
Dang fool Rufus is pointing to his right and by golly, that’s the way Joel went. Joel should have caught that. ..Still not over the shock of his pipe missing for 2 and a half minutes.
WTF does mo little mean anyway. I cant stand how stupid they have become. They used to have bad grammer but it was never to the point you could not understand them or to the point where they seemed like they were inbred and total fools
I’m late with the reference comment to allow people who want to read about and discuss the history of Gasoline Alley to place their comments in replies. Those who don’t can bypass the discussion by leaving the replies closed. Fair for everyone, I think.

The Monback Brothers was a faux sponsor on Prairie Home Companion. That’s where I first heard the “monback” routine. And where is Brian?
