“Back in the old days…” to show my age, Berrill had story arcs where the parents grew and learned something, and arcs where parents remained jerks. Given her father’s starting point he could progress a lot and still be total jerk.

Some library board experience here….volunteer role, I assume, not exactly a position that has them lined up. We tend to be wary of any who want on too much, the agenda people. If he wants less money to go to the library, Milford town council is a better outlet. Librarians know how to deal with people like this quickly, quietly. Unless, of course, we discover the Thorps are working there, too – maybe the kids? – and then this plot could take a while.

And it wasn’t that the topic was brought up when he attended dinner, because that came up after both he and Katy had left.
