This is a reference comment for people who want to read about and discuss the history of Gasoline Alley and allow them to put their comments in replies. Those who don’t can bypass the discussion by leaving the replies closed. Fair for everyone, I think.
So the lesson here is that if you mess up someone’s property and don’t feel like making it right, just keep making it worse until they accept the loss just to get rid of you.
Joel and Rufus completely screwed over poor Gertie and not only didn’t learn a single thing from the experience, but drove off feeling pleased with themselves to boot. What a pair of obnoxious halfwits. So much for their defenders saying that Joel would find a way to make it right in the end.
I am ‘ashamed’ for Joel as he obviously has no familiarity with the concept.
At our resident tobacconist; I had hoped that this business of Gertie’s car would have turned out better but now, I guess, I must wear the label of “traitor” with pride. ;-)
It’s not to late for Gertie to stop by the police station afterwards to report the vandalism. Then the gendarmes can be waiting for them by their outhouse to take them off to the hoosegow, where they belong.
What were Joel and Rufus even doing at the store? Because apparently they arrived, scratched Gertie’s car, ruined her paint job, and then went home. They never even left the parking lot. So what was the purpose of their outing in the first place, besides being a pain in Gertie’s rear?

Left a reply to yesterday’s “traitor” post.
