Remember when Hallmark had a card making machine where you put in the personal info, to make a special card for someone. THAT was cool.

You’d think Jon would learn by now not to rub salt in the wound regarding his age.

Well that backfired

When my husband turned 30, he became very depressed (his mother was “always 29” & I think that subconsciously effected him). Before his birthday, I called everyone we knew & told them not to do anything; if you HAD to (this was for my mother, who could never let any birthday go by uncelebrated), keep it tactful. One “friend” gave him a button that said, “Tease me about my age and I’ll hit you with my cane.” Unfortunately, at the time, he had a minor back injury and was using a cane. Needless to say, he was far less than amused. That’s the only birthday that’s ever bothered him. Of course, since he almost died soon after his 50th birthday, ALL birthdays are good ones now.

You should have stuck to having him purr on your lap, Jon (see yesterday’s Garfield)!

I think Jon got what he deserved if that card was his idea.

So if Garfield will be 43 tomorrow and Jon was 28 years old when Garfield was created, how old does that make Jon today? He doesn’t look 71.

Garfield is just a Kitten, in his forth or fifth life. He still has many more life’s to go. He will outlive his cartoonist and be drawn by some new young cartoonist and can redo all the old jokes over, for a new audience.

Be glad Jon that it didn’t say, “You’re also fat as a hog.”
