I once returned from a one week trip. I had someone taking care of my cat while I was gone. My cat acted very standoffish. “Look, it’s your pal. C’mon, say hello.”
“My pal would know where the cat food is kept.”
“Oh, oh, of course, right this way.”
We were buddies again shortly after.
