Groucho Marx was famous for saying “I would never join a club that would have me for a member”, but I’ve recently been reading Mark Twain’s letters (from 1867-1868, before, to some extent, he WAS Mark Twain), and he pointed out that he would never marry a woman who would have him for a husband. (Then, of course, he met Livy, and it was all “Never mind!”)

I have to agree with Afficionado: I ALWAYS rooted for Wile E. Coyote over the roadrunner, and Tom over Jerry, and the Joker over Batman, and Lex Luthor over Superman, and, of course, Yosemite Sam over Bugs Bunny. (Whereas I could take or leave Elmer Fudd—and I usually left him!)

Yup, if nice and quiet is the game, Andy would be a total misfit!

If they follow that advice (and Andy), it will be a loooong time before they observe a “suitable” pub.

Not quite as long (but still not short) would be if they go into the first pub that throws Andy out.

I’m hopefully going to be meeting up with my friend from school tomorrow. We haven’t seen each other for a month. What’s going to be special about tomorrow is that we can finally have a proper sit down inside the Bar & Grill place. Indoor dining started up again on 17th May and that’s how I was at the carvery yesterday.
