Occsionally, when I was a kid, and there was no butter or margarine available, we would use lard as a substitute for them on toast. Didn’t like it then, and still seems revolting now. Having said that, I have to admit that REAL pie crust is made with lard.

Dip? I don’t think so! We only use lard for pie crusts (AWESOME) but we only eat pie a few times a year so no medical harm.

Can’t say I’ve tried lard as a dip. But can I call you a lard-dip, Gary?
