Well, of course Kim grew up cynical. Just look at the strips of her criticizing Pres. Carter in the 70s from her high chair.

And this atmosphere of gloom and despair only took fifteen years for Neo-Con Republicans to create.

Makes perfect sense. In the ‘50s there was a conspiracy to hide irony from people. People didn’t get disillusioned till later. When I was about 18 I remember running into a guy I hadn’t seen in a year or so. Asked him how he was. He said, “Alienation is up this year.” Quintessential ’60s experience.

I grew up as a minster’s son, that will make you cynical.
