“Out of the Ink Well Comes Kilban the Cat.” Am I dating myself using a 1960’s cartoon reference?

What I’d like to know is: if he’s changing his fur color by syphoning up the ink with his tail, how did the small area of tail by the bottle remain unaffected?

He will be happy later that his human friend uses Higgins’s washable carbon ink (I’ve never been able to get out all the carbon from whatever I or a cat has spilt it on, but it’s miles better than Higgins’s permanent).

Automatic sleep-drawing. Notice how the cat is gradually being diffused with ink.
