My grandkids just started the new school semester a couple of weeks ago. They are all still attending classes online, except the youngest two, who will be attending school physically in the next week or so. The others are in high school and will still have to take classes via the internet for the immediate future.
Try living onboard ship for three years, with the only change, being walking across the pier and onto your new “Home”… (All out in the seventh fleet…)
The last one (the third) was only 38 feetwide and 201 ft long… (charter member of the Tonkin Gulf Canoe Club…)…After three years, and making it stateside, I got my first day of “Leave”… didn’t seem to matter much… by then……Keep you’re nose’s clean kids…A five to ten year stretch is much worse….
I never understand how places end school this early in the year.
Schools here run from the week of Labor Day in September (and lately, pre pandemic, some even start earlier) to the end of June. Does school start the beginning of August in some places to let out this early in the year?
Our required state exams for high school students go through June 25 this year. After the exams end the teachers have to have time to grade them and fill in report cards, students have to return books and so on. The school districts (each community has its own school district) must include these exams in their schedule so school goes to the end of the June – and this is normal since at least 1958 when I started school.
How do other school districts end a month earlier – less education?
