Today is:

National Devil’s Food Cake Day. By coincidence, I just happened to bake a devil’s food cake last night, so I’ll have a hunk of that today.

National May Ray Day. I had to look this one up. This is what I found:

“On May 19th, if your name is Ray (or Rae) give everyone permission to call you…well…Ray. It is National May Ray Day.The idea is, everyone may call you Ray on this day instead of “Hey you!” Or maybe Rays sometimes get called “Sweetheart” or not so nice things. The holiday is all about getting out into the sunshine and saying, “You can call me Ray.”

That reminds me of the not-so-funny, one joke guy whose only joke was, “Ah, ya doesn’t hafta call me Ray. My name is really Ray Jay Johnson Junior. You can call me Ray or you can call me Jay or you can call me Ray Jay or you can call me RJ or you can call me Ray Jay Johnson Junior. But ya doesn’t hafta call me Ray.” I probably don’t have that 100% the way he said it (I think he used more combinations of his name), but it wasn’t very funny the first time I heard it and by the 100th or so time I heard it, I wanted to punch the guy in the mouth to shut him up.

Would that be Lily trying to get a point across?

Gotta be Lily. She’s often disgruntled . (Usually because of Chesney.) If that is Lily, she’s a good shot. Got my garden planted today. It’s not much, but it’s a start. On another note, saw two rabbits and five robins while out walking today.
