Happy 4th of July! I am Canadian who has a step-daugher who married an American and they have a son. They live in Washington DC. Have a happy and safe holiday everyone! :-)

They keep telling me I need to watch my weight. Fortunately most of it is right out there in front of me where it’s easy to keep an eye on it.

Too many thin skinned people on the web. If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen! Or nowadays that would change to the Pacific Northwest, ouch!!

Nelson doesn’t really understand but if it happens again and again, he may realize what Grandpa means…don’t get a beer gut! LOL

Happy 4th to all. And be thankful we reached that milestone early in our history. Many countries have never approached the same freedoms that we have enjoyed for these 242 years.

He really has thick skin. It’s even grew up through his hair!

Thick skin is a helpful trait for a grandparent. My granddaughters love to point out my balding head.

Grandson (now 8) a couple years ago: “You must eat a lot of food, Granddude, ’cause your belly sticks way out in front!”

What can I say? He’s a very observant young man…….

Watch out Earl. Your skin is so thick that even the truth bounces off and doesn’t bother you, much less sink in.

Once, when a lady at my work complained that her boss often said hurtful things to her, I told what I did was to think of it as water off a duck’s back. I know that sounds kind of silly, but later she told me it really worked for her, and that made me feel good!

In fact that’s morbid adipose tissue below his hide. Similarly to essential hypertension, it’s essential old man belly fat.
