    It did tend to keep customers in the saloon.

    It was often difficult to get them out – especially after several drinks.

    I’ve often wondered how those saloons ‘locked up’ at night. Any ‘desperado’ could just walk in or slide under the doors and get some free whiskey, right? How did Marshall Dillon handle it?
