What! No comments! And she threw a couple of words and phrases that I haven’t a clue as to their meaning.

A “nudum pactum” is a promise that asks no reward (it’s naked), and so if you don’t keep this promise it can’t be held against you. The fact that it’s in Latin tells us that it’s something lawyers use to keep us thinking that we’re so dumb we need to pay them a lot of money to help us. Ipso Facto. Quid hoc ergo propter hoc. Quid pro quo. Nihil obstat. etcetera. Honestly, I think lawyers do this to impress us enough that we think we’re actually worth the humongous (not Latin?) fees they charge.

A clangorous vociferous no of barbarous jape-isms?I miss the days when no meant no. Wait, when was that again?

What did moths do before porch lights? What did lawn darts do before lawns? Where was outside before inside?

Life is a naked promise. All live their best lives.

Scurrilous scribbles of that disembodied head, or mad rantings of a frustrated stand-up comic? We may never know; especially if we don’t crack our dictionaries (physically or digitally). Such is the lifespan of apophthegms….

When lilacs last in the dooryard bloom’d

    Nictitating membranes felt the gloom

Captain our Captain they sought to maim

Knuckleheaded moths all buzzed the flame.

If I only stick to what I’m good at, I can’t get to be good at anything else.

(Also relevant: If I only stick to what I’m already good at, I get bored.)

I left out “Habeas Corpus”, which has nothing to do with a dead human body, but the “body of evidence” if I remember right.
