In my early days as a “boatnerd,”(following and photographing ships along the Great Lakes rivers) one I had never seen would be a 5 hour drive away. As always, timing would be affected by weather, her speed, and marine traffic on the rivers she traveled. I packed for an overnight camping trip, stopping long enough to tell my adult son, “Your mother has become a brazen hussy. She’s off to chase a boatload of men!”
