Because this is a beautiful world, and you want to learn all you can about it.

It’s a revelation. Kids discover the magic word “Why”, without any other thinking, can be used endlessly to get a response from an adult.

Would it have had the same pop-culture significance if Samuel L. Jackson had ranted: “Say ‘why’ again! I dare you! I double-dare you!”

“Because you didn’t know how to read yet, so you couldn’t look it up for yourself.”

Because, Gracie darling, you are a nudnik!

It’s a young child thing; glad that you still have some….

All little kids do that. Why?

Because that is what little kids do.

Because you didn’t yet realize that adults are idiots who don’t actually have the answers.

Because that is what precocious little geniuses DO.

Why not?

Gracie, you were a little girl and little girls ask those questions. It is how you got answers.

This little one does so remind me of my granddaughters.
