I guess now would be a good time to explain the concept of “Handicap” in golf.

Brutus has plenty of company.

Hades would’ve frozen over.

It’s called skill. Not that I would know anything about that.

I know what your problem is, Brutus. You’re using an iron on a 396 yard par 4. You should be using a wood, probably a one wood.

I’m just making this up. I’ve never played golf.

That sure looks different than any golf courses I have ever been on. Where are the windmills? Where are the waterfalls and volcanoes? I once hit a shot on such a course and searched high and low for the ball. 5 minutes later I discovered I hit a hole in one. Got a gift certificate to our local ice cream shop. Best golf day ever.

I used to talk trash about golf having not (tried) playing it. My brother played often and talked me into going with him so he could teach me to play. Can’t say I learned to play, however, I did learn it’s a skill I ain’t got. I no longer badmouth golf players. Lesson learned in an embarrassing hard way.

It’s ironic how so many people bad-mouth golf, when they’ve never played it (present company, excluded!). It’s extremely hard, without lots of practice, and, unlike almost every other sport I can think of, the idea is to get the lowest score, as opposed to the highest. If the powers that be would reverse that, I would have a shot at an excellent career, in golf!I will concede one point, however… it’s a great sport to watch, when someone needs a nap!

Only play golf while drunk. That way, you have an excuse for missing and blowing shots, getting a lousy score, and won’t get mad at the game ( hopefully).
