When they get off the bus the daughter explodes. ‘That poor old man could barely stand! Why did you want me to sit? I could have killed him!’’

Mother says ‘Honey, I know old men like that. Thinking he was too old to be gallant to a lady is what would really break his heart.’

And then women complain that men offering them a seat or opening doors for them is “men calling them weak”. Meanwhile, in real life, a man got on a bus, he was holding a grocery bag in one hand a baby in the other. A woman offered him her seat.

Chivalry’s not dead. Just in a coma.

I will continue to treat women in the manner I was taught by MY MOTHER, and my father. I will continue to open doors, give up my seat and the various other simple courtesies we once called chivalry.

A woman who dislikes these practices should tell me the first time it happens. I will honor your wishes and treat you as I would treat another man.

Was travelling with a coworker, and an indignant lady came up to him and started chewing him out for not offering his chair at the crowded gate… took her a while to realize that he was in a wheelchair… then she stormed off in a huff…
