Huh? Why do they have to be careful of guards watching from the walls during the day? Isn’t this Valthor’s city? Why is he worried about the guards?

And why, if you have a hidden kingdom, with no one knowing the location, do you need to post guards? Guarding against what? And how / why did Valthor wander off and get captured by slave traders?

Fortunately, Tarzan recognized Cleveland and sighing in relief, knew he would have his patient back in the nuthouse by dark.

Good thing it’s raining. Valthor’s armor needs a good wash job after all of those predicaments Tarzan rescued him from.

Sad thing for a fan of the Tarzan comic strip to have to admit but I’ve never read the Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan books until now . I’m halfway through the first book “Tarzan of the Apes” and it is a great read . A lot of the comic strip references make sense now . Sheeta , Numa , Tantor – they’re all in there . I have a list of the ERB Tarzan books and I’m going to go through them . I like this 112 year old novel . Burroughs doesn’t dumb down anything and I’ve found myself going to the dictionary a few times already . So now . . . what in the world is going to become of Professor Archimedes Q. Porter and his assistant Mr. Samuel T. Philander ? Last night when I left off they were lost in the jungle .

“What’s that in klicks?” asked Tarzan. “I never could translate from English units in my head.”

“I think you’re all wet to cross in this weather,” said Volthar. “But then again, so am I.”
