A charming Beneficence for us readers. Just when you think you’ve got those two pegged… especially her… Surprise!
Totally in character for both but still Unexpected.
The details would be boring, but four of us in my college dorm used similar outlandish costumery… and ritual mummery, chanting, incense, and fire… to freak out the pizza delivery kid.
Coincidentally, the record on the turntable that night was…
Freaking out the tourists is usually just Amelia’s bag, wonder how she got Wallace to go along. He seems much more a befriend the tourist kind of chap.
Another excellent Sunday comic – but what blew me away this time is a totally mundane part: the ground in the middle panel. For some reason, when I look at the ground, with the dirt, the pebbles, the stray shells and tufts of grass, and then the side of the little beach hut, I feel like I’m there. I’ve been in those kind of settings before, as have most people I’m sure, and suddenly I’m reliving my childhood feelings, where everything seems so immediate and full of meaning. OK, so I’m waxing poetic, but this strip just brings it pouring out of my memories. Thank you yet again, Will Henry!

Truly bizarre but I think he’d need to be an adult to really freak people out.

Wallace is in Rhode Island but you could see the same thing in Provincetown MA every time they have a Pride parade.
